Phyllis Charlene (Sissy) Eversole, 65 of Ingalls, IN passed away on November 16, 2018 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Sissy was born December 8, 1952 to Charles and Dorothy (Howard) Thompson in Owensboro, Kentucky.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Dorothy Thompson; and her husband of 19 years Alfred Eversole.
She is survived by son, Jonathan Thompson of Ingalls, Indiana; granddaughter, Tala Thompson of Champaign Illinois; grandson, Joshua Taylor of Indianapolis Indiana; brothers, John, Charles (Greg), Robert; sisters, Deborah, Brenda (Carol), Margaret; and 12 nieces and nephews.
She was an avid outdoorsman enjoying activities such as fishing, hunting, kayaking. Sissy also enjoyed horseback riding and partaking in her sons’ activities such as skydiving, and comic book conventions, attending her first convention October 2017 where she met one of her favorite film stars.
She joined the Marine corps league Bearss Detachment #089 doing charity work in the community and work with veterans’ weather it was selling refreshments or raffle tickets.
She put her full devotion into anything she set her mind to including working long hours to raise a son as a single parent for 12 years.
She will be missed and always be loved and never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at Marine Corps League Barracks at 550 S. Audubon Rd, Indianapolis, IN on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 6:00 p.m.

Sissy and I were diagnosed with breast cancer within a month of one another so we shared that bond. She loved life and loved to do things with Jonathan and with the Marines. I will miss her and so will her friends.
